Cross-Database Models for the Classification of Dysarthria Presence

چکیده
Dysarthria is a motor speech disorder that impacts verbal articulation and co-ordination, resulting in slow, slurred and imprecise speech. Automated classification of dysarthria subtypes and severities could provide a useful clinical tool in assessing the onset and progress in treatment. This study represents a pilot project to train models to detect the presence of dysarthria in continuous speech. Subsets of the Universal Access Research Dataset (UA-Speech) and the Atlanta Motor Speech Disorders Corpus (AMSDC) database were utilized in a cross-database training strategy (training on UA-Speech / testing on AMSDC) to distinguish speech with and without dysarthria. In addition to traditional spectral and prosodic features, the current study also includes features based on the Teager Energy Operator (TEO) and the glottal waveform. Baseline results on the UA-Speech dataset maximize wordand participant-level accuracies at 75.3% and 92.9% using prosodic features. However, the cross-training of UA-Speech tested on the AMSDC maximize wordand participant-level accuracies at 71.3% and 90% based on a TEO feature. The results of this pilot study reinforce consideration of dysarthria subtypes in cross-dataset training as well as highlight additional features that may be sensitive to the presence of dysarthria in continuous speech.

Interval network data envelopment analysis model for classification of investment companies in the presence of uncertain data
The main purpose of this paper is to propose an approach for performance measurement, classification and ranking the investment companies (ICs) by considering internal structure and uncertainty. In order to reach this goal, the interval network data envelopment analysis (INDEA) models are extended. This model is capable to model two-stage efficiency with intermediate measures i...
متن کاملApplication of classification trees-J48 to model the presence of roach (Rutilus rutilus) in rivers
In the present study, classification trees (CTs-J48 algorithm) were used to study the occurrence of roach in rivers in Flanders (Belgium). The presence/absence of roach was modelled based on a set of river characteristics. The predictive performance of the CTs models was assessed based on the percentage of Correctly Classified Instances (CCI) and Cohen's kappa statistics. To find the best model...
متن کاملA Comparative Study of Gender and Age Classification in Speech Signals
Accurate gender classification is useful in speech and speaker recognition as well as speech emotion classification, because a better performance has been reported when separate acoustic models are employed for males and females. Gender classification is also apparent in face recognition, video summarization, human-robot interaction, etc. Although gender classification is rather mature in a...

Abstract Objective: Many organizations use the ABC classification method to control their large amount of inventories. The most common way to classify inventories is the ABC method. In traditional ABC classification, items are only classified according to one criteria. But there are other criteria that need to be considered in the inventory classification. The purpose of this study is to prese...

The quality of the road pavement has always been one of the major concerns for governments around the world. Cracks in the asphalt are one of the most common road tensions that generally threaten the safety of roads and highways. In recent years, automated inspection methods such as image and video processing have been considered due to the high cost and error of manual metho...
